Thank you
A really awesome evening stay with Dan, Krista, Hydi, Nolyn and Romyn. Thank you so much. And if you can't tell, all 3 Grandpas are smiling after an adjustment and Hydro Massage at Krista's clinic. GMS

Dan and Krista's house
Located in a nice suburb of Denver, Louisville, this two story, full basement, 3 bedroom home was built in the 80s. The entire neighborhood is families and kids about the same age, on a cul-de-sac. With lots of bike and hike trails. Also about a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride to Krista's office. Here Richard and Dan inspect the back yard and Nolyn by the back fence. GMS

A good day of riding over the Rockies, some after showers, cold, warm and various conditions in between, we arrive at Dan and Krista's and three smiling faces of great grand kids, any aches and pains melt away after hugs and smiles. GMS

Coming to Ely, Nv
On Hwy 50, about 7 miles west of Ely, the clouds were gathering and it looked sure that we were getting wet before getting there. This very different rainbow appeared to be coming out of the top of the Mountain. GMS

Eureka
We left Grass Valley Tuesday morning on our way to Ely, NV. On the way we stopped at the small town of Eureka which was about halfway to our destination. It had a neat Historical District. Here are but a few of the buildings. ROM
Ely to Green River
The trip from Ely to Greenriver was another one of those journeys when you see a great deal of country side. Excluded are a few photos that prove that. We did have an interesting encounter at Ely but no pictures. As we left the motel to go and get dinner the local police seem to have an interest in the three bikers from Arkansas. Blue lights flashing, we pulled into the Twin Wok for our evening meal. The two young officers approached us and wanted to know where our helmets were because Nevada is a helmet law state. We told them the helmets were. in the room at the motel where we were staying and that we and only rode about three blocks. We tried to convince them (and it was true) that we wear helmets all the time. They were very nice and polite and because of our age and the funny look on our face they let us go. Not even a warning. The little Chinese couple and their children that ran the restaurant was looking through the door to see what was going on. We went into the dinning roomn and explained to all the customers who were laughing that we were not criminals. I think it really helped us to the two officers were interested in elk hunting and were familiar with Arkansas and it's growing elk population.they probably would have stayed and talked with us but got a call and had to go to a domestic disturbance. It was just like on TV, they handed us our IDs back and took off quickly. We made a lot of new friends. ROM
Landscapes
The landscape between Ely and Green River was great. I wish that it were possible to include all of the pictures that I took. One shows a salt flat in Utah, an approaching rain storm that we rode through and flat land with some some mountains in the background. ROM

The Loneliest Highway In America
Highway 50 which is just outside Carson City is considered the loneliest highway in American. After traveling some 300 miles along desolate salt flats, desert and mountainous regions I concur that it is one of the loneliest highways I have ever traveled. It is aptly named. ROM
Beautiful Lake Tahoe
This is the first day that we actually rode all day without jackets, and it was one of the most perfect days of riding. Leaving Grass Valley this morning we made our way east on 20 to Lake Tahoe. Winding through the mountains and over Donner pass to one of the most beautiful settings and pictures just do not do it justice. There we connected to Hwy 50. GMS

Lake Tahoe, CA.
This was a beautiful place. Some of us recalled being here as children. The lake lies partially in California and Nevada. It is snow fed and a tremendous resort area for year round sports. The water is crystal clear. Beautiful place for riding. ROM

Pacific Coast and the Giant Red Woods
The red woods were amazing, stately, majestic and unbelievable. These trees are truly one of the wonders of the world. This is a very dense forest with winding roads and sharp curves. At this writing we are still looking for pictures to post. The west coast in general was awesome. See it however you can, but it is best on a Harley with friends. ROM
Eureka Departure
On the way out of town we had to go by and pay our respects to the local Harley Davidson dealership. Eureka, CA was the turning around point for our trip to the West Coast. We each bought a shirt at Redwood Harley to mark the occasion. Like any of us needs another shirt! ROM
Lunch at Yachats, OR With Earnie and Adell at the Luna Fish House
The highlight of the day was having lunch at the Luna Fish House in Yachats, Oregon with Ernie and Adell, This was couple who ask us to sit with them in the restaurant because there were no other tables available.they were from Oregon and were camping nearby. We had a great time sharing our backgrounds and talking about the trip that we were home. They were extremely interested in where we had been and where we were going. We shared with them the experiences of our last five trips. They seem to be amazed. We could have had lunch anywhere and it would've been just as good. However lunch with Ernie and Adell made it very special.I have said before that one of the best parts of our trip is the people that we meet along the way. This was no exception. Great people, great food and a great time. ROM
