After 3 hours coming off the top of the Mountain and following the Clearwater river, and a lot of smoke, we reach Lowell (pop 23) and lunch at the cafe. As you can see, still in heavy smoke. One of the main staging areas for the fire fighters in the hundreds of wild fires going on all over the northwest. We have basically been in smoke since Helena but got enough here that you couldn't see across the road. GMS
