Early morning trip to Mackinac Island
We got up early this morning around 6 o'clock and had breakfast and prepared for our trip to Mackinac Island. I guess because of the lake there was a very dense fog that lasted till noon. When we got to the dock for the trip by ferry to the island they told us that we needed to park on bikes on a jetty adjacent to the land. You can tell from the picture of the bike that I have included that there is no visible landscape behind it. That is because you could hardly see your hand in front of your face. We never saw the island until the boat had completely docked. By mid morning the fog had begun to lift on the lower part of the island but the top of the island still remained shrouded in a gray haze. It was not until noon that the sun really made his presence known and you could actually see the many many aspects of Mackinac Island. It is truly a beautiful place and has one of the most interesting history for a state that you will read. ROM
