Gilmore Heritage Museum

After spending the night in Ann Arbor Michigan last night we got up early this morning had breakfast and we're on our way to near Kalamazoo, MI to spend most of the day at the Gilmore Heritage Museum. This was a museum that was a make up of large two and three-story barns that had been bought and brought in and retrofitted for museum displays. There were also dealerships that have been bought and moved the location plus a period Shell service station and a diner from Connecticut and several other things that have been moved to the location. The museum was situated on 90 acres with two large green areas that were set aside for car shows and other types of automobile activities. The automobiles were primarily displayed according to the manufacturer. Cadillac, Ford, Pierce Arrow and Lincoln all had their own buildings for display. It was impressive to see how intricate the work on these automobiles were and how beautiful they are since they have been restored. It was also amazing to see how relatively inexpensive they were using current monetary comparisons. There are more than 400 automobiles included in this collection. ROM
