This is the car that started it all. In 1963, Donald Gilmore's wife bought him this project car, 1920 Pierce-Arrow. Not having a place to work, he set up a tent in the driveway and with the help of some friends, this is the result. So taken by the antique and classic cars, owned 30 of them by 1965. He bought a 90 acre farm near Kalamazoo and started finding barns around the country, dismantled board by board and assembled them on the farm. The Gilmore Heritage Museum was opened in 1966. Donald Gilmore passed away on 1969 and the Museum was established as a non-profit. New buildings and additions, now houses over 400 vehicles.
